A feed of the UK Election results injected into Ableton Live from The Guardian's Open Platform API, Max for Live and Jython.

It is perhaps a sign of the times that I learned of two key Liberal Democrat defeats - Lembit Opik (Montgomeryshire) and Susan Kramer (ousted by Zac Goldsmith in Richmond Park) - directly in Ableton Live's Session View.

I await the chance to cast my next vote directly from my Novation Launchpad or my monome.

I'll upload the patcher code when I get a chance.

As a software engineer I'm convinced by the argument, but also have a strong belief in the unique nature of the creative flow afforded by the muscle memory that is employed when gigging with hardware controllers, and which can easily be lost when the eyes and fingers leave the instrument and interact with the computer.
